Shelley Bragg: How Our Personal Hardships Can Foster Compassion
The world needs compassion, and for true compassion to be possible, we first need to come to terms with our own suffering so that we can better understand the suffering of others.
Shelley Bragg works in the areas of marketing, events, fundraising and social development and has worked with various organizations over the past 14 years, in various countries. She is currently the Director of Marketing at the Western International School of Shanghai. She is the founder of Still Chasing Rainbows - an organization aimed at supporting non-profits - and co-founder of Good Travel LTD - a social enterprise that is using tourism to encourage environmental sustainability, community action and ethical business practices.
Through personal stories, Shelley Bragg explains how violence and abuse are affecting our society as a whole. She shows us that if we want to stop the cycle of abuse, we need to recognize it, we need to talk about it, and we need to encourage those trapped in the cycle, to step forward and share.
