WISS Primary students are getting excited and informed about TEDxYouth@WISS through the efforts of a dedicated team of TEDxYouth@WISS enthusiasts!
Eight students in G3-G5 elected to join the What is the World Waiting For? Friday afternoon activity lead by Tania Mansfield, PYP Coordinator, and Kathy Anderson, Technology Integration Specialist. These students watched TED videos and debated their own answers to this provocative question. Ideas ranging from time machine to peace were considered by the team.
Students then came up with strategies for raising awareness of the upcoming TEDxYouth@WISS event within our community. Their ideas included creating original comics to promote TEDxYouth@WISS and designing flyers to promote the event. They also worked in groups to create interactive posters on which WISS community members can share their own ideas about what the world is waiting for. The team also wondered about the possibility of wearing special TEDxYouth@WISS t-shirts around school to help raise awareness. Friday afternoons were then spent in a frenzy of creative energy, working in teams with technology and hands-on materials to bring their ideas to fruition.
One eager participate expressed his enthusiasm, “Why would anyone want to do any other Friday activity? This is so fun!”
